Stevie Bacon
Hopefully someone from the club sees this or it can be passed on, sad news on someone most of us remember fondly. Would be nice if the club can do something to help out.

Steve Bacon on instagram:

10 days ago I was rushed to the Royal London Hospital for a life saving operation which entailed amputating my remaining leg. You can only imagine the pain and trauma this has caused me, and I’m slowly coming to terms with it.

This, obviously, has cast a huge question mark over my immediate and long term future. I cannot give you any idea as to what will happen to me, but my physiotherapists and occupational therapists aim to come up with a plan. I will let you know of any progress as and when it happens.

Poor man

Great servant to the club over many years and he also took photos for a cricket team I played for many moons ago

Best of luck to him

Re: Stevie Bacon
He’s a part of the club’s folklore. I wish the big man well.

He nearly ran me over outside the camera shop in Goodmayes the day Bonzo was named manager, but I won’t hold that against him

Re: Stevie Bacon
Shame isn't it that we only heard about this so late.

He is an institution. Hope he's ok.

Re: Stevie Bacon
This is horrid news, the bloke is as West Ham as any of us.

We speak of Watson,Moore,Brooking,Bonds,Di Canio etc but some people like Mr Bacon are as much of our history and folklore as anyone who ever pulled the shirt over their head

I wish you well SB. X

Rios - I don’t know, it was the one on the corner of Goodmayes Avenue and Goodmayes Lane.

Iron Duke 10:55 Sun Jan 23
Re: Stevie Bacon
I just looked it up. Yes, it was that one. I just knew it as Canon because that’s what it said on the sign! And it was Goodmayes Road not Lane. I always get them mixed up

I know that the poor bastard had a few toes amputated a few years ago and has a pretty bad time of lately.

Inevitable really as he was such a unit but a lovely bloke to talk to as a little lad

All the best Stevie x

Horrible news.

Don't see any GoFundMe or similar pages for him online, would be happy to contribute to help him with a bit of income whilst he's going through this.

Also, too many English phrases about helping people out financially include legs and feet.

COYI.
